Theology of the Body Intensive Weekends

The Institute of Catholic Humanism has conducted numerous Theology of the Body Intensive Weekends for the purpose of forming and engaging young adults in the fundamentals of God’s plan for our sexuality. Always offered in a home, these events provide content, witnesses (couples and celibates) and plenty of discussion and fellowship. Meet a few of the witnesses.

We offer set dates for upcoming TOB weekends If you would like to schedule a session for your own group, please contact us for weekend options.

Reading and Discussion Groups

After a solid introduction to JPII’s Theology of the Body, individuals are invited to go deeper.  A Monthly Literature Book Club with a virtual option is planned for 2023, which involves reading great books that help us understand what it means to be human. Papal audience meetings involving prayer, reading the texts from JPII and Benedict XVI, and unpacking these writings are conducted on a weekly basis.

The 2023 Literature List and Registration – Join us for one month/book or for all of them.  Tolkien, Lewis, Austen, Chesterton, O’Brien and more!

To be notified about the Reading and Discussion Groups, please contact us or register.

Conferences & Seminars

The Institute has hosted ‘First Saturday Seminars’ – special events taking place on Saturdays, which allow interested young adults and the wider Catholic community to go deeper on a particular topic or issue, often presented by a guest speaker. These events provide the opportunity for participants to hear from specific individuals on the interpretations and implications of key papal writings. Additionally, the Instiute has hosted a conference with Jason Evert in 2022 on St. John Paul the Great and Dating 101.  Author, evangelist Shane Kapler presented in 2023.

Research & Writing

In addition to regular gatherings and opportunities for the formation of young single and religious adults, the Institute has also invested time and resources in both research and writing on some topics, particularly as they pertain to the teachings and writings of St. John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI.
